Jamaica Hills resident dies in car crash

A 48-year-old Jamaica Hills resident has died as a result of a two-crash collision on the service road by Grand Central Parkway in Jamaica.

Police say that on Monday, at approximately 5:48 a.m., cops found the car crash at Grand Central Parkway and 164th Street.

A preliminary investigation found that a 2009 Nissan Sentra, operated by a 51-year-old man that carried a 48-year-old woman and a 59-year-old woman, were traveling northbound when it was struck by a 2012 Scion SUV traveling westbound on Grand Central Parkway.

The Scion was driven by a 36-year-old woman, who sustained minor injuries to her neck and back. She was taken to North Shore Manhasset Hospital in stable condition.

The 51-year-old driver was injured in his chest and taken to Queens General Hospital. He is in stable condition.

The 59-year-old passenger suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to Jamaica Hospital. She’s in stable condition.

But 48-year-old Wazeda Banu, who suffered chest pain, was taken to Queens General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead 0on arrival.

The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the incident.
