A man from NJ was arrested for attempting to bring a working World War I-era pistol onto a plane at JFK Airport.
Philip S. Saada, 58, of Dear, N.J., put the .35-caliber revolver in a carry-on bag, and was discovered when the bag passed through the X-ray machine, Port Authority Police spokesman Joseph Pentangelo said.
“I didn’t know it was in my bag,” Saada told police.
Saada, who was already on probation after taking a plea last year in a heroin distribution case in New Jersey, was charged with felony possession of a weapon.
