Car collision leaves 89-year-old man dead

Police are investigating a crash on Sunday, May 7 that eventually killed an 89-year-old man from Howard Beach.

Authorities say at about 12:48 a.m., 89-year-old Robert Falk was struck by a car near Cross Bay Boulevard and 160th Avenue.

EMS responded to the scene and took Falk to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a week later.

Upon further investigation by the NYPD’s Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad, Falk was crossing Cross Bay Boulevard when a 2012 Honda Pilot, driven by a 39-year-old man, made a left turn and hit Falk with the front bumper area.

The driver remained at the scene. There are no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
