Don’t be alarmed by the site of National Guard members in Hazmat Suits in or around Resorts World Casino this morning.
According to the NYPD 106th Precinct, the National Guard will be conducting a full-scale exercise at Resorts World, on Rockaway Boulevard and 114th Street.
The exercise is scheduled to occur between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and emergency personnel utilizing protective equipment including full hazmat suits.

Resorts World Casino is hosting DJ Tommie Allen and DJ Lance’s Scorpio Birthday Party on Friday, October 28th at 9 p.m until 2 a.m.
The 4th annual event will feature live performances by Al B. Sure and Rochelle Fleming.
The famous DJs created the birthday party in 2012 to remember the 90s. It has been an annual event ever since, a night for celebration, dancing and good music.
Police have arrested and charged a 24-year-old woman in connection to a pellet gun attack on a police officer.
Cops say that last Wednesday, at approximately 5:11 p.m., plain-clothed police officers who were operating in an unmarked police car were driving westbound near Jamaica Avenue and 168th Street.
The passenger of a brown 2015 Nissan Altima, with the Missouri license plate YH4H3T, was traveling on the other side of the road. The passenger shot a pellet from a pellet gun at the detective, striking him on the forehead.
The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital for his injury.
After an preliminary investigation, police arrested and charged Tiara Ferebee from Riverhead, New York on the following charges:

Police say that on September 9, at 2:30 a.m., inside Resorts World Casino at 110-00 Rockaway Boulevard, this unidentified man approached a 71-year-old woman from behind.
The victim was playing at a baccarat machine when the man removed an envelope, which contained $4,000, from her purse.
The man, pictured above, then left the scene.

Police are looking for this man who they say punched a 69-year-old woman on Saturday.
Cops say that on October 15, at about 8:10 a.m., Richard “Kwasi” Springer exited 107-60 Sutphin Boulevard and approached the victim from behind. Springer punched her in the head with a closed fist, causing her to fall to the ground.
Springer, whose last known address is listed as 147-21 109th Avenue in South Jamaica, then left the scene.
The 69-year-old victim sustained a serious injury to her head. EMS responded to the attack and took her to Jamaica Hospital, where she is in stable condition.
Kwasi, seen above, also has a tattoo of the name “Emily” on his right arm. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans and black boots.

On October 31, after nearly 100 years in business, the iconic Queens dairy that provided milk cartons to New York City schools will shutter its doors. The Jamaica based company employed 273 workers, but the owners of Elmhurst Dairy say their attempts to keep the company in Queens became more and more difficult, with constantly rising cost and the many restraints of dairy regulations.
The Queens Chamber of Commerce, along with York College and the Queens Borough Presidents Office of Economic Development, are jointly sponsoring a Career Opportunities Fair on Monday, October 17th . This event will be held in the York College, CUNY Atrium, 94-20 Guy R. Brewer Boulevard, Jamaica, NY 11451 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. This event has been organized to assist the employees of the Elmhurst Dairy, which is closing later this month. Many companies within Queens and NYC are exhibiting at the job fair.
Thomas Grech, executive director of the Queens Chamber of Commerce said, “The Queens Chamber needs to be involved to help these workers. We reached out to Deputy Borough President Melva Miller, who is always there for the business community of Queens. Knowing the folks at York College well, their commitment to continuing education and the campus’ proximity to the Elmhurst Dairy, we all agreed a job fair was in order. We had to get this done by the end of the month due to the closing of the facility.”

Prepare yourself because Nick Cannon is coming to town.
Cannon, an artist and producer/host of MTV’s “Wild ‘N Out,” will perform a DJ set and host a meet-and-greet at Resorts World Casino on Saturday, October 15 at 10:15 p.m.
He’ll be performing at Bar 360 at 11:30 p.m., with the meet-and-greet session set for 10:15 p.m.
Cannon has had a famed career in television, which started when he was a teenage talent on Nickelodeon’s “All That.” He later went on to host shows like “The Nick Cannon Show,” “Wild ‘N Out” and “America’s Got Talent.”
Nick also has film credits on his resume, including roles in “Drumline,” “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” and “Roll Bounce.”
The multi-talented star released a self-titled album in 2003, featuring the hit song “Gigolo” with R. Kelly. In 2013, Cannon released a single called “Me Sexy” while announcing work on his second studio album, White People Party Music.
Cannon was married to singer Mariah Carey before they divorced several years ago.
Cannon is most known for his work on “Wild ‘N Out,” which returned for its eighth season this past August. It was the top-rated show in the history of MTV2 for three straight seasons.

Mayor Bill de Blasio recently announced that his administration will create a new Mayor’s Office of Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs) and aim to award 30 percent of city contracts to MWBEs by 2021.
To help understand what that all means, a slew of Queens elected officials, including those in central, south and southeast Queens, are participating in a town forum to access credit and capital next week.
The event, hosted by The Black Institute, will feature the following pols: Councilman Daneek Miller, Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley, Councilwoman Julissa Ferreras-Copeland, Councilman Donovan Richards, Councilman Ruben Wills, State Senator James Sanders, State Senator Leroy Comrie and Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman.

Resorts World Casino is hosting a “Legends of the 80’s” concert on Saturday, October 8th at 9 p.m., featuring Doug E. Fresh, Biz Markie, Atlantic Starr and Sisqo.
Doug E. Fresh first performed in 1983 and broke into hip hop with his single “The Show/La di Da di,” which became an instant classic in his album Reality. His second album, The World’s Greatest Entertainer, broke into the Billboard charts with the single “Keep Risin’ to the Top.”
Biz Markie is another household name in hip hop history. His 1998 single “Just a Friend” became an instant hit, still reverberating on radio stations today.
R&B singer Sisqo was the lead singer of the R&B group Dru Hill with singles like We’re Not Making Love No More. Sisqo was also behind the memorable single Thong Song, a karaoke classic.
