Pedestrian fatally struck on New Year’s Day

It’s a heartbreaking way to start to the new year for one St. Albans family.

Police say 52-year-old Thomas Bradley Jr. was fatally struck while crossing South Conduit Avenue and Rockaway Boulevard in Springfield Gardens.

After hitting Bradley on January 1, at approximately 2:34 a.m., the driver fled the scene.

EMS arrived at the scene to find Bradley unconscious and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead on arrival (DOA) at the scene.

There are no arrests and the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is conducting an ongoing investigation.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a red Ford Mustang with damage to the front passenger side and a missing passenger side mirror.
