Officer shot at with pellet gun in Jamaica

Police_Line_Crime_Scene_2498847226-300x200-1Police have arrested and charged a 24-year-old woman in connection to a pellet gun attack on a police officer.

Cops say that last Wednesday, at approximately 5:11 p.m., plain-clothed police officers who were operating in an unmarked police car were driving westbound near Jamaica Avenue and 168th Street.

The passenger of a brown 2015 Nissan Altima, with the Missouri license plate YH4H3T, was traveling on the other side of the road. The passenger shot a pellet from a pellet gun at the detective, striking him on the forehead.

The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital for his injury.

After an preliminary investigation, police arrested and charged Tiara Ferebee from Riverhead, New York on the following charges:

  • Attempted murder of a police officer
  • Assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon
  • Assault on a police officer
  • Criminal possession of a weapon-loaded firearm
  • Reckless endangerment
