Battle of the Badges Cook-off at Resorts World

The FDNY and NYPD are squaring off in the “Battle of the Badges” cook-off on Sunday, September 18 from noon to 5 p.m. at Resorts World Casino.

The competition is part of the 2nd Annual Queens South Community Day. Thousands of people are expected to attend throughout the day.

More than 20 participants from three agencies are expected to participate in the cook-off. It will be hosted by Ray Cooney, the star of the hit television show Firehouse Kitchen and a retired firefighter.

Judges including Queens Deputy Borough President Melva Miller, Jamaica YMCA Executive Director Cedric Dew and singer and entertainer George Lamond.

Grand prizers for the winners include a trophy, a $500 gift card and additional prizes for second and third-place winners.

In addition to the cook-off, the community day will feature food, including a pizza truck, ice cream truck, cotton candy machine and a popcorn machine. Kids can play carnival games, get their faces painted, jump in a bouncy house and exercise with rock climbing.
