For the third consecutive year, State Senator Leroy Comrie helped distribute turkeys to local families in need ahead of Thanksgiving.
The giveaway took place at St. Matthews A.M.E. Church on Hollis Avenue. Over 120 frozen turkeys were given out as part of the event.
“Thanksgiving is a time when we should all feel cared for, but many are left without the means or support that they need,” Comrie said. “I hope that the individuals receiving turkeys today will feel a measure of kindness and compassion that they carry with them into the holiday season and the new year.”
