Elected officials in eastern Queens celebrated John F. Kennedy’s 100th birthday last week with students from PS 46.

The group celebrated at John F. Kennedy Circle, the only street in the city named after the 35th American president.

“Today we commemorate the centennial of the birth of John F. Kennedy. Given today’s political climate, we must remember and celebrate JFK’s spirit of inclusion and his contributions to our country and the world at large,” said Councilman Barry Grodenchik.

Assemblyman David Weprin said JFK inspired millions to get involved and fulfill their civic duties.

“In 2017, with millions of Americans marching for civil rights, equal opportunity and justice, President Kennedy’s message resonates more than ever,” Weprin said.
