The St. Stan’s (Ozone Park) CYO basketball program has been chosen to receive this year’s CYO Parish Sportsmanship Award.
Their dedication to hosting various basketball programs, respectfulness of parents and kids, and attitude of their athletic community were large factors in the nomination.
“It is a great honor and tribute to the dedication and standards set by our PAR Joe Bode,” said Athletic Directors, Jimmy Cooke & Kathleen Jordan McDonald.
“We would like to extend a huge thank you to our coaches: Carlos ‘Los Man’ Cervantes, CJ Cooke, Rudy Peña, Joseph Bode, Dominick Phil Hughes Santoro, Billy Hofmann, along with our parents and players!” said Bode.
The award will be presented at the CYO hall of fame dinner on June 2nd.
